Many of us exhaust ourselves spending vast time and energy trying to anticipate and control the future or find ourselves plunged in regret, shame, and guilt.
Humans are relational beings, and our ability to connect with others consciously and unconsciously drives every element of our life. If we are unable to get our relationships in order--whether it be friends, family, or romantic-- everything else feels out of place. I help both individuals and couples get back to where they want to be.
There are many types of trauma; all of them impact the way we see ourselves and the world. Many of us aren't able to recognize how verbal and non-verbal communications from our early lives continue to impact us. I specialize in helping people recover from these traumas as well as from more intensive, major traumas like sexual, emotional, and physical abuse. I am certified in evidence-based treatments: EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and TF-CBT (Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and am an intermediate level Somatic Experiencing Therapist.
Addictions come in many forms; all of them are related to difficulty handling challenging life circumstances and painful emotions. I can help you identify the source of addictive processes and learn new skills and methods to address destructive patterns.
We all have moments in our life when we feel “not good enough.” When we are unable to trust in our own goodness, we end up spending huge amounts of time and energy trying to prove that we are worthwhile, or trying to hide so that no one will see our flaws. I can help you integrate a stronger and more balanced understanding of your own value.
